Our Story
Rob starting printing over 8 years ago using a CR-10S filament printer (named Rudolph for its red extruder and hotend) to make tabletop terrain as a hobby. Since then, the hobby has become a full professional printing business that has printed and shipped over 60,000 miniatures!
Some highlights of our journey
Apr. 2018: an EPAX X1 resin printer was added to the hobby equipment and the flood gates opened. Rob begins selling resin printed miniatures to friends at the local game store.
Sept. 2019: Rob takes a leap of faith and opens the Gootzy Gaming Etsy store with 3 product designs meant to support SW Legion. His mine condition tokens were the first official sale on Sept. 17, 2019.
Nov. 2019: Rob gains his first 3D sculptor partnership with Lion Tower Miniatures, and a second resin printer is purchased.
May 2020: Rob partners with Ty and Felicia of Dark Fire Designs to become their exclusive printing partner. Resin printers 3-5 and filament printers 2&3 are added to the lineup.
July 2020: Rob puts his new girlfriend, Dani, to work on packing orders to help with the new DFD products demand.
Oct. 2020: Rob partners with Jordan Cuffie from Skullforge Studios to offer his SW Legion sculpts on the Etsy store. Rob's downtown Baltimore apartment hits production capacity.
Spring 2021: Rob relocates to his hometown of Altoona, PA and Dani decides to come along. 3 weeks are spent building up a workshop to support Gootzy Gaming's growth. Dani and Rob get engaged on May 30th, making Gootzy Gaming officialy "our business".
Aug. 2021: We attend our first convention as a vendor, and the Etsy store crosses 10,000 sales and 3k five star reviews. More resin printers are added to the lineup.
May 2022: We launch the Gootzy Gaming website and start carrying Gamer Grass, Green Stuff World, and Turbo Dork Hobby products.
May 2023: Our resin printer line-up undergoes a major upgrade adding ten 18 micron (8k) resolution printers.
June 2023: GootzyGaming.com 2.0 launches, we add our first color filament printer to the lineup, and start laser cutting services.
